Wasted Pixels in Moving Image Production: Treatment for Manifesto
For this subject, we were given the specific task of preparing a manifesto, on any topic we felt was important and relevant to our voice and opinions. Basically, the definition of a manifesto is a public declaration of principles, policies or intentions which targets a political nature. A…

Wasted Pixels in Moving Image Production: manifesto idea
The idea for my manifesto is based on Apple’s manifesto which initiated as episodes of commercials in 1997. The commercials are distributed in both print and in television.
The manifesto stated: “Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square…

Review of My Portfolio Website
My Portfolio Website

The so-called “splash page” which displays random images of the work that I’ve done. I’ve also included photos from outside of university work. These images changes periodically in a slideshow.

The Photography section

The Video Section

Embedded the video from Video Context on Vimeo. Featuring MR A.
The Illustrations Section

All of my illustration work during Semester 1 and 2 goes here.
The About Me

Some random general facts about me goes here.
My Verdict:
Minor changes have been made to the site compared to the digital mock-ups. I feel that this approach enable viewers to see my work straight away. But after submitting it, I feel that there is a lot of improvement can be made to this site to make it look professional. Like for instance, I wish I had a caption box or description right under every photos to show viewers what the photos are all about. Categories of photography would also be nice to put in so that viewers can see my work in different fields, in university and outside university.
I plan to take this site and actually make it my portfolio site to sell myself. Haha. Perhaps using a different hosting like HussZulkifli.com or so. Sounds like a brand. Maybe over the summer holidays, I would tear this apart and add those missing elements in making this site slightly better and efficient.
The End. Peace.

Week 9 Blog Task
The Paper Prototype of My Website Portfolio.

Digital mock-Ups and design based on the paper prototype

The initial tabs for the website. I scraped it because to me, it looks like 1) a girl’s blog and 2) a website that was created during the 1990s where geocities rule everything. haha.

The Illustration Section
I replaced the tabs with icons. Keeping the site’s theme to minimalistic and slick.

Reflection:
Personally, there’s a lot of digital mock-up from other students that I like, Will, Kate, Adam, Dorota, Ray, Rakeem, Natasha and Kris. Their designs are a bit different than the conventional portfolio site design. I feel that these people aren’t afraid of taking different approach and creating something new. What is best about it is that when you look at their designs, you can tell straight away that it is them. They add characteristics and passion to their designs making it unique and it intrigues me. It has raised my expectations on what I have to achieve on designing my website. There would be minor changes to be made in my design prior to making it less complicated and straight to the point.

Week 7 Blog Task
Sometimes I feel that when I’m developing my website, I get lost in between how CSS works. As the main content goes in the html, the CSS changes the attributes and appearances of it. But after some practice, I clearly understood the possibilities and the advantage of CSS. I feel that with CSS, html codings are more organizable and structured. My strengths for my work would be the designing the site on photoshop. I tend to be adventurous on how the site might look like and spend hours on designing it. But when it comes to the codings, I’m a bit rusty. It takes a while for me to compute the logic on how it works and what goes where. Hence, making that my main weakness. I have been reading the reader as well as other external readings as well to improve my HTML language.

Week 3 Blog Task
After observing several articles about different styles and elements of web designing, I came to a conclusion of the styles that appeal most to me and will use it as a guideline to work on my web portfolio.
illustrations and cartoons.
drawing has always been apart of my life. from doodling, scribbles to sketching. i would include illustrations and cartoons in portfolio site to make it more personalized. i would however create my own characters and objects rather than taking it from somewhere else. these characters will have that funky vector look.
